PNG files are what most of us make without thinking: screenshots, exported charts, logos, designs from Canva or Figma, scanned signatures. They are sharp and lossless, but when someone asks for "a PDF", a folder of PNGs will not do. This converter puts them into a proper PDF in the order you choose, keeping every pixel.

It works in your browser. The images are read and placed into the PDF on your own device, so nothing is uploaded, which matters when the screenshots show bank details, customer data or an unreleased design.

How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drop your PNG files on the box at the top, or click it and select them. You can add JPG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files in the same batch.
  2. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want, or use the arrows under each one. The number on each card is its page number.
  3. Pick a Page size. Fit to image makes each page the shape of its PNG, which suits screenshots and logos. US Letter or A4 puts every image on a standard page, which suits printing.
  4. With Letter or A4, choose an Orientation (Auto turns wide images to landscape pages) and a Margin: none, small (0.25 in) or large (0.5 in).
  5. Under Save as, keep One PDF to combine everything, or pick One PDF per image to get a separate PDF for each PNG.
  6. Click Create PDF, then download the file, or the ZIP of separate PDFs.

Why PNG to PDF needs a little care

Screenshots keep their sharpness

Text in a screenshot is a pattern of exact pixels. Re-saving it as JPG blurs the edges of letters, which is why some converters turn crisp screenshots into fuzzy PDFs. Here, PNG files are embedded losslessly: the PDF holds the same pixels as your file. Zoom in on the PDF and the text looks exactly like the original screenshot at the same zoom.

Page size does not shrink the image

With Fit to image, each pixel is treated as 1/96 inch, the standard screen density, so a 1920 x 1080 screenshot would make a 20 x 11.25 inch page. Pages that big are awkward in viewers and printers, so the converter scales the page down until its longest side is 11.7 inches (the long side of A4). That example becomes an 11.7 x 6.6 inch page. Only the physical size changes: all 1920 x 1080 pixels are still in the PDF, so nothing is lost when you zoom.

Transparent PNGs

Transparency is kept. A logo with a see-through background is embedded with its transparency, and because PDF viewers show pages on white, it looks like a clean logo on a white page with no gray or black box around it. If you later place that PDF on a colored background in a design app, the transparent areas stay transparent.

Note: only PNG keeps transparency here. WebP, GIF and other formats are redrawn on white before they are placed. If you have a transparent WebP logo, convert it to PNG first with the image converter.

Worked examples

Twelve screenshots for a support ticket

You captured 12 steps of a checkout bug, each 1440 x 900 pixels. Drop them in, sort them by step, choose Fit to image and One PDF. Each page comes out 11.7 x 7.3 inches, the PDF has 12 pages in the order you set, and the support agent can scroll through it in one file instead of opening 12 attachments.

Printables for an Etsy shop

A planner designed in Canva and exported as 10 PNG pages at 2550 x 3300 pixels (Letter size at 300 DPI) goes in with US Letter, no margin and One PDF, giving a 10-page Letter PDF ready to print at full quality. Etsy allows up to five files per digital listing, each up to 20 MB (Etsy Help, as of October 2026), so check the PDF size in the result before you upload. If it is over 20 MB, split the planner into two PDFs with Split PDF or reduce it with Compress PDF. To pick tags and price points for the listing, AM Jarvis Etsy Research scores Etsy keywords and tracks what competing shops sell.

Logo files for a print shop

A print shop asks for your logo "as a PDF". Drop the transparent PNG in, choose Fit to image and One PDF per image if you have several versions (full color, white, one color). You get logo.pdf, logo-white.pdf and so on in one ZIP. Note that a PNG inside a PDF is still a pixel image: for large signs, the shop may still ask for the original vector file.

PNG to PDF on a phone or without a tool

On an iPhone, the Files app can make a PDF from images: select the PNGs, tap the More button and choose Create PDF. It uses each image's own size and gives you no page size, margin or order control beyond the selection order. On a Mac, Preview can export a single PNG as PDF with File > Export as PDF; for several images, open them together in Preview, arrange the sidebar thumbnails and print to PDF. On Windows, you can print images to Microsoft Print to PDF from File Explorer or the Photos app, but each image is placed on a paper size, so screenshots end up with white bands or trimmed edges depending on the fit option you pick.

This converter runs the same in any modern browser on all of these devices, keeps PNGs lossless and gives you Fit to image, Letter, A4 and margins in one place.

Troubleshooting

  • The order is wrong. Files are added in the order your system hands them over, which is not always alphabetical. Drag the cards or use the arrows before you click Create PDF.
  • A page is sideways. With Letter or A4, Auto picks landscape for wide images. Choose Portrait to force upright pages; the image is then scaled to fit the width.
  • The PDF is large. Lossless PNG data is big, especially for photos saved as PNG. For photo-heavy files, convert them to JPG first or run the finished PDF through Compress PDF.
  • An iPhone screenshot looks huge. Recent iPhones save screenshots at around 1179 x 2556 pixels or more. With Fit to image the page is scaled to 11.7 inches tall, which is fine on screen. For a printable handout, choose US Letter with a small margin so each screenshot sits centered on a normal page.
  • A file is rejected. The converter accepts PNG, JPG, WebP and HEIC. A PDF dropped here is refused with a pointer to Merge PDF, which combines PDFs and images together.

Privacy and limits

The converter is free, needs no account and adds no watermark. Images never leave your device. There is no fixed file limit, but every image is held in memory while the PDF is built, so a few hundred large PNGs work best on a computer. For photos from a phone, receipts and mixed formats, see Image to PDF, which covers those cases in detail. To turn a PDF back into PNG files, use PDF to PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PNG to PDF for free?

Drop the PNG on the converter above, choose a page size and click Create PDF. The PDF is built in your browser and downloads right away. It is free, has no daily limit, needs no account and adds no watermark.

How do I combine multiple PNG files into one PDF?

Add all the PNGs at once or in batches, drag them into order, keep Save as on One PDF and click Create PDF. Each PNG becomes one page, in the order shown on the cards.

Does converting PNG to PDF reduce quality?

No. PNG files are embedded losslessly, so the PDF contains exactly the same pixels. Page size only sets how large the image prints; it does not resample it. Zoomed in, the PDF looks like the original PNG.

Will a transparent PNG stay transparent in the PDF?

Yes. The transparency is kept, and PDF viewers show the page on white, so the logo appears without a box around it. Only PNG keeps transparency; WebP and other formats are placed on a white background.

What page size should I use for screenshots?

Fit to image. Each page then takes the shape of its screenshot with no white bands around it. Large screenshots are scaled so the longest side is 11.7 inches, which keeps the file easy to view and print without losing any pixels.

Can I convert each PNG into its own PDF?

Yes. Choose One PDF per image under Save as. You get a list of PDFs named after your images, which you can download one by one or together in a ZIP.
