In short

As of October 2026, US sellers pay no Depop selling fee. Depop Payments charges 3.3% + $0.45 on the item price, shipping and tax, and Boosted listings add 12% when a sale comes through the boost. A $30 item with $5.99 shipping and 7% tax costs $1.72 in fees, so you receive $28.28. If that sale was boosted, another $3.60 comes off.

Depop's fees changed more than most resale apps in the last two years. Sellers based in the US, UK and Australia no longer pay a selling fee, so the main cost of a sale is now payment processing, plus a boosting fee if you use Boosted listings. Because processing is charged on shipping and tax as well as the item, and has a fixed part, the share Depop takes depends a lot on the price. This calculator works it out for any sale.

Rates are from Depop Help (Seller fees and charges) for US sellers, as of October 2026. The calculator runs in your browser.

The boosting fee applies only when a buyer interacted with your boosted listing (viewed, clicked or liked it through the boost) and bought within the attribution window. A sale that did not come through the boost pays processing only. UK sellers pay 2.9% + £0.30 processing instead; this calculator uses US rates.

How to use the Depop fee calculator

  1. Enter the item price the buyer paid.
  2. Tick Sold through a Boosted listing if the sale came from a boost.
  3. Choose Shipping: a Depop shipping label paid by the buyer, your own shipping with a price you set, or free shipping where you pay postage.
  4. Enter the shipping price and, if you ship yourself, your postage cost.
  5. Enter the buyer's sales tax rate. Depop collects the tax, but processing is charged on it.
  6. Add your item cost and packaging. The result shows fees, payout, profit, margin and the break-even price.

Worked examples

A $30 top with a Depop shipping label

The buyer pays $30 plus $5.99 shipping plus 7% tax ($2.52), $38.51 in total. Processing is 3.3% of $38.51 plus $0.45, which is $1.72. You receive $28.28 for the item. With an $8 item cost and $0.50 of packaging, profit is $19.78, a 65.9% margin. That is under 6% of the item price in fees.

The same sale through a Boosted listing

The boosting fee is 12% of the $30 item price, $3.60, because you used a Depop label. Fees rise to $5.32 and profit falls to $16.18. Boosting pays off only if it brings sales you would not otherwise make, or makes them sooner.

Shipping it yourself

You charge $6.50 for shipping and buy a $5.50 label. Processing is charged on $30 + $6.50 + $2.56 tax = $39.06, so it is $1.74. Your payout is $34.76 including the shipping you collected, and profit after postage, cost and packaging is $20.76. If this sale had been boosted, the 12% would also apply to your shipping charge: 12% of $36.50, or $4.38.

Free shipping

The buyer pays $30 plus tax, processing is $1.51, and you pay $5.50 postage. Profit is $14.49. Free shipping can help a listing stand out, but build the postage into the price.

An $8 item

With $4.99 shipping and 7% tax, processing is 3.3% of $13.90 plus $0.45, or $0.91, which is 11.4% of the item price. The fixed $0.45 is why very cheap items are better sold in bundles.

Bundles and offers on Depop

The $0.45 fixed part of processing is charged once per order, so bundles save fees as well as postage. Three $12 items sold separately with $4.99 shipping and 7% tax each pay $1.05 in processing per order, $3.15 in total. Sold as one $36 bundle with $5.99 shipping, processing is 3.3% of $44.93 plus $0.45, which is $1.93. You keep $1.22 more and ship one parcel instead of three.

When you accept an offer, processing is charged on the price the buyer actually pays plus shipping and tax, so enter the accepted price, not the listing price. The break-even price in the calculator is a good floor for counter-offers.

A month on Depop

If you sell 40 items a month at an average of $30 with $5.99 Depop shipping and 7% tax, processing is $1.72 on each, about $69 for the month. If a quarter of those sales came through boosts, add 10 x $3.60 = $36, so boosting adds roughly half again to your fee bill. Compare that with how many of those 10 sales you would have made without the boost.

Pricing for a target profit on Depop

Because processing is a small percentage plus $0.45, you can work backwards quickly. To make $15 on an item that cost you $8 plus $0.50 packaging, with $5.99 Depop shipping and 7% tax, you need a price of about $25.05. At that price processing is $1.55, your payout is $23.50 and profit is $15.00. Enter the price in the calculator to confirm before you list, and add the 12% if you plan to boost it.

Depop label or your own shipping

With a Depop label, the buyer pays postage and the boosting fee skips shipping. With your own shipping, you set the price and buy the label, and boosting is charged on shipping too. If you boost a lot, Depop labels usually leave you more.

Depop compared with other resale apps

With no selling fee, Depop is one of the cheapest places to sell clothing when a sale does not come through a boost. For a $30 item with $5.99 shipping, the table under the calculator shows Depop keeping $1.72, Mercari $3.60 (10% of the item and shipping), Poshmark $6.00 (20%) and TikTok Shop $2.16. The calculation changes once boosting is involved: a boosted Depop sale costs $5.32, more than Mercari.

Fees are only one side of it. Depop's audience skews younger and style-led, so vintage, streetwear and Y2K pieces often sell faster there. Before you source stock, AM Jarvis Marketplace Research helps you compare product ideas across marketplaces and write listings that fit each one. To see the same item on other platforms, use the Poshmark fee calculator, the Mercari fee calculator or the eBay fee calculator.

Tips to keep more of each Depop sale

  • Use boosting selectively. Boost slow movers with good margins, not items that would sell anyway.
  • Bundle cheap pieces. The $0.45 is a big share of an $8 sale and a small share of a $30 bundle.
  • Price shipping honestly. Processing is charged on shipping too, and on your own shipping, boosting is as well.
  • Check the break-even price before accepting an offer. The calculator shows the lowest price that covers your costs.

Troubleshooting

My payout is lower than the calculator shows

Check whether the sale was attributed to a boost. The boosting fee is based on the buyer interacting with the boosted listing and buying within the attribution window, so it can apply to a sale that happens days later. Also check the tax the buyer actually paid.

Does Depop still charge a 10% fee?

Not for sellers based in the US, UK or Australia. The selling fee was removed in those markets. Sellers elsewhere should check Depop Help for their country.

Why is the fee higher on my own shipping?

Processing always includes shipping. When you use your own shipping, the boosting fee includes it too, while with a Depop label it does not.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Depop take from a sale in 2026?

For US sellers, Depop charges no selling fee. Depop Payments takes 3.3% + $0.45 of the total the buyer pays, including shipping and tax. On a $30 item with $5.99 shipping and 7% tax, that is $1.72. Boosted sales add 12%.

Does Depop still charge a selling fee?

Not in the US, UK or Australia. As of October 2026, Depop's help center says no selling fees are charged to sellers based in those countries. You still pay payment processing and, for boosted sales, the boosting fee.

What is the Depop boosting fee?

It is 12% for listings created from March 23, 2026, charged on the item price excluding tax, and also on shipping when you do not use a Depop shipping label. It applies only to sales that came through the boost.

Is the Depop processing fee charged on shipping?

Yes. The 3.3% + $0.45 processing fee applies to the item price plus shipping plus any tax the buyer pays.

Is Depop cheaper than Poshmark?

For most sales, yes. Poshmark keeps 20% of sales of $15 or more, so $6.00 on a $30 item. Depop takes $1.72 on the same sale with $5.99 shipping, or $5.32 if it came through a boost.

How do I find my break-even price on Depop?

Enter your item cost, packaging and shipping setup in the calculator. The break-even price is the lowest item price where your payout covers those costs. Use it as your floor when accepting offers.
