Most dropshipping research comes down to a few questions. What does this competitor sell, and at what price? What did they launch or drop this week? Who else sells the product you are looking at, and what does a supplier charge for it? Answering these by hand means hours of clicking through stores and ad libraries.
The Dropshipping Suite in AM Jarvis puts that research in five tabs: Store Spy, Store Tracker, Winning Products, Ad Spy and My Winners. It is built on sources you can check yourself, every result says where its numbers came from, and anything that is an estimate is labeled as one.
Store Spy: see what a Shopify store sells
Type a store address, such as a competitor's domain, and Store Spy reads the store's public Shopify data. You need no login, and nothing is installed on that store. You get:
- Products and prices: up to about 1,000 of the newest products, with the price range and median, the main product types and vendors, and how many products were added in the last 7 and 30 days.
- Collections: public collections with product counts, plus the store's own best sellers collection when it has one.
- Theme and apps: the theme name and version, and apps detected in the home page code, such as Klaviyo, Judge.me or the TikTok Pixel.
- Store details: currency, country, how many countries it ships to, and the date of its oldest product, a hint of how long it has been selling.
Each product has an Import button that sends it to your connected Shopify or WooCommerce store through the Product Importer, and a Save button for My Winners. A Store Spy check counts as one research run and uses no credits.
Shopify's robots.txt asks tools not to open "best selling" sort pages, so Store Spy does not. Best sellers appear only when the store has its own collection named something like Best Sellers or Trending.
If you only need the theme or the app list, the free Shopify theme detector and Shopify app detector do that without an account. Store Spy uses the same app fingerprints.
Where the data comes from
Shopify stores publish a product feed at /products.json, store details at /meta.json and collections at /collections.json. Store Spy and Store Tracker read those, plus the home page for the theme and apps. AM Jarvis identifies itself as AMJarvisBot, reads at most one page per second from any store, follows each store's robots.txt, and never touches checkout, carts or customer data.
Store Tracker: a Shopify competitor tracker that checks daily
Store Spy gives you a snapshot. Store Tracker watches a store over time. Once a day it saves each tracked store's product list, prices and stock status, then compares them with the previous check. You see:
- New products the store launched
- Products removed from the store
- Price changes, with the old and the new price
- Products that sold out in every variant, and products back in stock
The first check saves a starting point, so changes appear after the next daily check. Each store shows 30-day totals and a dated list of changes you can filter by type. For stores with more than 2,500 products, the tracker follows the first 2,500.
Tracker checks use no credits and no research runs. Your plan sets how many stores you can track at once. Check now gives you a fresh look before the next daily check, once an hour per store.
Units moved: only when the store publishes stock
A few Shopify stores publish stock quantities in their product feed. For those, the tracker adds up how much each variant's stock went down since the previous day and shows it as "Units moved (est.)". Restocks are ignored, and returns or manual stock edits make it imperfect, so treat it as a rough signal. Most stores do not publish stock, and for those AM Jarvis shows no sales estimate rather than guessing.
Winning Products: product research with supplier prices
Type a product or niche, such as "posture corrector", and pick a country. Winning Products runs three Google searches:
- Google Shopping for the product, to see which stores sell it and at what price.
- Google Shopping for the product on AliExpress, to find supplier prices from AliExpress, CJ Dropshipping and similar sources.
- Google web search for Shopify product pages, skipping marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Walmart. Up to 10 of those stores are then read from their own product data.
It groups the same product across stores and shows, for each one, how many stores sell it, the price range, the cheapest matching supplier price, an estimated margin (median store price minus the lowest supplier price) and a competition level of low, medium or high. Where a store's data shows it, you also see how long the product has been on sale. You can search 12 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany and France. Save a product to My Winners, or jump to Ad Spy with the same search.
How credits work here
A search counts as one research run and uses up to 3 credits, one per Google search. A Google search is only charged when it returns results, so if the supplier search finds nothing, you pay 2 credits. If the whole search fails, any credits it used are given back and the run is not counted. You need at least 3 credits available to start, and each result shows how many it used.
Worked example: reading one result
The figures here are illustrative, not a real result. You search "posture corrector" in the United States. The result shows 14 stores selling it (medium competition), with prices from $19.99 to $39.99 and a median of $29.99. The cheapest matching supplier offer is $6.50 on AliExpress. The estimated margin is $29.99 minus $6.50, which is $23.49, or 78% of the median price.
That 78% is before your real costs. Say supplier shipping is $4.00 per order, you spend $10.00 on ads for each sale, and payment processing takes $1.20. Your profit drops to $8.29 per order, roughly 28% of the price.
Run your own numbers in the profit margin calculator and check platform costs with the Shopify fee calculator. Order a sample too: the margin assumes the supplier item is the same product, and a matching title does not guarantee that. This search used 1 research run and 3 credits.
Ad Spy: links into the official ad libraries
Meta and TikTok do not share ad spend, reach or sales for ordinary product ads, so any tool that shows those numbers for every ad is estimating. AM Jarvis does not scrape Facebook or TikTok and never shows spend, reach or impressions. Ad Spy builds links into the official sources instead, filtered for your product, country and ad format:
- Meta Ad Library: active Facebook and Instagram ads that mention your keyword, in your country or all countries, or ads that mention a competitor's domain.
- TikTok Creative Center: top ads from the last 30 days and product categories trending in TikTok ads this week.
- TikTok Ad Library: ads shown in Europe, where TikTok must publish them by law. It does not cover the US.
- Google Ads Transparency Center: the Search, Shopping and YouTube ads a competitor store runs.
The links are free, and an Ad Spy search counts as one research run. You can also tick an option to search Google for public Facebook, Instagram and TikTok posts about the product. That uses up to 2 credits, charged only when posts are found. Google does not say whether a post was paid, so treat those as leads, not confirmed ads.
In the Meta Ad Library, look at start dates. An ad that has run for weeks, with several versions, usually means the advertiser is selling enough to keep paying for it.
My Winners: save, write the copy, then import
My Winners is your private shortlist of up to 500 products. Save products from Store Spy or Winning Products, or add one by hand with a link, your price and the supplier cost. Keep notes on each, and the estimated margin updates when you change a price.
When a product is ready, Write with AI creates a product title, a 120 to 200 word description, 3 ad hooks, a Facebook ad primary text, a UGC video script and a marketing email. Pick a tone (friendly, premium, playful or expert) and optionally describe your target customer. It runs on your own AI key from Settings, and each run counts as one research run. The AI is told to use only the facts you saved and not to invent specs, reviews or discounts, so add real details to the notes first.
If the product is on a Shopify store, Import with this copy sends the original product (images, variants and prices) to your connected store with the new title and description, or you can open it in the Product Importer to edit first. For AliExpress, Amazon and other sites, open the product page with the AM Jarvis Chrome extension, then paste the copy.
Plans and limits
| Plan | Research runs a month | Stores tracked |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 | 1 |
| Starter | 100 | 10 |
| Pro | Unlimited | 50 |
| Agency | Unlimited | 200 |
A research run is one Store Spy check, Winning Products search, Ad Spy search or AI copy run, counted only when it finishes. Tracker checks, saved products and the ad library links cost nothing extra. Winning Products and the optional Google post search also use credits, which every plan includes each month. Prices and credit amounts are on the pricing page.
What it does not do
- It does not show other stores' sales, revenue or orders. No public source provides them. The only sales-like number is the units estimate for stores that publish stock.
- It does not show ad spend, reach or impressions, and does not scrape Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.
- Store Spy and Store Tracker work on Shopify stores only.
- It does not open pages a store's robots.txt disallows.
- The estimated margin leaves out shipping, ads, payment fees and returns.
- App detection only sees the home page, so apps that load only on product or cart pages may be missed.
- It does not place orders with suppliers.
Troubleshooting
"Does not look like a Shopify store"
Store Spy found no sign of Shopify on the home page and no public product feed. To copy a product from a WooCommerce store, use the Product Importer. For other sites, use the Chrome extension on the product page.
The store refused the visit or blocks its feed
Some stores block automated tools or ask them to slow down. If the home page loads but the product feed is blocked, Store Spy still shows the theme, apps and store details, with a note that products could not be read. If the whole store refuses, try again later. In the tracker, a failed check keeps the last good snapshot and tries again the next day.
The store shows a password page
A store behind a Shopify password page is not open to the public yet, so there is nothing to read. Try again after it launches.
Winning Products finds nothing
Google returned no products for your words. Try a simpler, more common name, such as "posture corrector" instead of a brand name. Searches that return nothing are not charged.
