Merchant Center rarely tells you exactly what to change. A misrepresentation suspension or a batch of disapprovals points at a policy, and you are left to work out which page, product or missing detail triggered it. The AM Jarvis GMC Scanner and Fixer reads your connected Shopify or WooCommerce store, lists the problems that commonly lead to those decisions, and fixes the ones that can be fixed through the store's API.
How it works
- Connect your store. For page checks on Shopify, the store connection needs the read_content and write_content permissions. The scan tells you if they are missing.
- Scan. Each issue comes with a severity (high, medium or low), a plain explanation and example products.
- Fix. Press Fix on a single issue or Fix all fixable. Product fixes run in batches of five with live progress.
- Handle the manual items. Complete your business address, switch to a domain email, add real barcodes and work through the checklist.
- Rescan, then request a review. When the scan is clean, request a review inside your Merchant Center account.
Work in this order: business information, then policy pages, then product pages, then technical items. That is the order reviewers tend to read a store in.
Find problems before Google punishes them
The scanner checks the things Merchant Center actually enforces: missing product identifiers, policy trigger words in titles and descriptions, absent or incomplete trust pages and the catalog patterns that lead to disapprovals. Each finding comes with what it is, why Google cares and what fixes it.
| Check | What it looks for | How it is fixed |
|---|---|---|
| Business address | A complete address in Shopify's store details | You, in Shopify Settings |
| Store email | A free email provider such as Gmail or Yahoo | You, by switching to a domain email |
| Policy pages | Shipping, returns and refunds, privacy, payment, terms, contact and about | Shopify: created and published. WooCommerce: you create them in WordPress |
| Business-info block | Store name, address and plain-text email on each policy page | Shopify: appended to the page |
| Linked email | Email addresses written as mailto links | Shopify: converted to plain text |
| Contact page | Support hours and a reply time | Shopify: added to the page |
| Trigger words | "Guarantee", "100%", "cure", "miracle", "FDA approved", get-rich claims | Replaced with safer wording |
| Title and content problems | All-caps titles, trademark symbols, emojis, images inside descriptions, fake urgency | Cleaned automatically |
| Missing GTIN or barcode | Products where no variant has a barcode | You, with real barcodes |
Every scan also lists seven manual checks the API cannot verify, including a real logo, visible menus on mobile, realistic review dates and business details that match your Merchant Center account exactly.
Fix in one click, not by guesswork
Flagged titles and descriptions are cleaned directly from the scan results: trigger phrases are swapped for safer wording, and all-caps titles, trademark symbols, emojis, images inside descriptions and fake urgency lines are removed. The cleanup follows fixed rules, so the same input always gives the same result, and gallery images are never touched. For example, "guaranteed results" becomes "reliable results", "100% safe" becomes "safety-tested", and a line such as "Only 3 left, order now" is removed. Fixes write back to your store immediately, so scan, fix and rescan is a single sitting instead of a support ticket cycle.
On Shopify, missing policy pages are generated with your store name, address and email and published in the same pass.
Works with your compliance flow
Pair the scanner with Bulk Edit Pro to fix patterns across the whole catalog at once, and with the importer's AI rewriting, which avoids trigger words, emojis and all-caps titles, so newly imported products arrive clean instead of becoming next month's disapprovals.
Who it is for
Shopify and WooCommerce store owners setting up Google Shopping for the first time, stores dealing with a misrepresentation suspension or a wave of disapprovals, and agencies preparing client stores for review. It is just as useful before you connect a new store to Merchant Center at all, because fixing these items first is easier than appealing a decision later.
Limits and honest notes
- Each scan checks the first 100 products in the store.
- The generated policy pages use standard terms: 30-day returns, 1 to 3 business days of processing, Monday to Friday support hours and replies within 24 to 48 hours. Edit them to match how you really operate before you request a review. A policy you do not follow is its own misrepresentation risk.
- Word replacement is mechanical, so read the cleaned titles and descriptions afterward.
- On WooCommerce, product fixes work, but pages must be created and edited in WordPress, because WooCommerce API keys cannot change pages. The barcode check reads the SKU field there.
- The scanner works from your store data. It does not read your Merchant Center account, its diagnostics or your feed settings, and a clean scan does not guarantee approval. Google makes that decision.
How it connects to the other AM Jarvis tools
Bulk Edit Pro handles catalog-wide changes the scanner does not make, such as rewriting a title template. The Product Importer with AI rewrite turned on keeps new products free of the most common trigger words.
Free tools that help
Check whether a product has a real barcode with the GTIN lookup tool. If you would rather write your own policies than edit the generated ones, start with the refund policy generator and the privacy policy generator.
