To convert images to PDF, add your photos to the converter above (JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work, mixed together), put them in order, choose US Letter or A4 with a small margin and click Create PDF. Pick One PDF per image if each receipt or document should be its own file. Nothing is uploaded.

Most documents that need to become a PDF start life as a photo: a receipt for an expense report, a signed form, an ID for a rental application, a whiteboard after a meeting, a handwritten note. They come from different phones and apps, so they arrive as a mix of JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC. This converter takes them all, turns them upright, and lays them out on standard pages so the PDF prints and reads like a real document.

It runs entirely in your browser. Photos of IDs, contracts and bank cards are never uploaded to a server.

How to convert images to PDF

  1. Drop your images on the box at the top or click it to choose them. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC (the iPhone format) can be mixed in one batch.
  2. Check the order. Each card shows its page number; drag cards or use the arrows to move them.
  3. Choose a Page size: US Letter (selected by default here) or A4 for documents, or Fit to image if each page should match the photo.
  4. Leave Orientation on Auto so landscape photos get landscape pages, and pick a Margin. Small (0.25 in) suits most documents.
  5. Under Save as, choose One PDF for a single document or One PDF per image for separate files, delivered in a ZIP.
  6. Click Create PDF and download the result.

What happens to your photos

  • HEIC photos are decoded. iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. The converter decodes them in the browser and places them as high-quality JPG, so you do not have to change your camera settings or convert them first.
  • Sideways photos are turned upright. Phones often store a photo sideways and add a rotation tag. The converter reads that tag on JPG files and turns the image so it appears the way it looked on your phone.
  • Other formats are flattened onto white. WebP, GIF, BMP and similar files are redrawn as JPG on a white background. PNG files are embedded losslessly.
  • Each image is scaled to fit, never stretched. On Letter or A4 the image is centered and scaled to fit inside the margins, keeping its proportions. All of its pixels stay in the PDF, so zooming in on a receipt shows the same detail as the photo.

Letter or A4?

Use US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) for anything going to an office, bank, landlord or tax preparer in the United States or Canada, and A4 (210 x 297 mm) for most other countries. The difference matters when the PDF gets printed: a Letter page printed on A4 paper, or the other way round, is usually shrunk a little to fit, which can shave the edges off a photo placed with no margin. If you do not know where the file will be printed, choose your local size with a Small margin, which survives either paper without cutting anything off. Fit to image is better kept for files that will only be viewed on screen.

Worked examples

A month of receipts

You have 23 receipt photos from an iPhone, all HEIC, about 2 to 3 MB each. Add them all, sort them by date with the arrows, pick US Letter, Auto and Small, and create One PDF. You get a 23-page Letter PDF with each receipt centered on its own page. Because each photo keeps its full resolution (an iPhone photo is 12 megapixels or more), the PDF can easily run to tens of megabytes. If your expense system has an upload limit, shrink the photos first with the image resizer (2000 pixels on the long side is plenty for a receipt) or run the PDF through Compress PDF.

One file per receipt

Some bookkeeping apps want one file per transaction. Keep the same settings, switch Save as to One PDF per image and click Create PDF. Each PDF takes the name of its photo, such as IMG_4471.pdf, and Download all as ZIP saves them together. Rename the photos before you add them (for example 2026-10-03-staples.jpg) and the PDFs carry those names.

A mixed batch for a rental application

A pay stub screenshot (PNG), a photo of a driver license (HEIC) and a bank letter downloaded as WebP can go into one PDF. Order them the way the form lists them, choose US Letter with a Large margin so nothing is near the paper edge if it gets printed, and create One PDF.

Tips for document photos

  • Crop before you convert. The converter places the whole photo, including the table or floor around a receipt. Crop in your phone's Photos app first, or use the document scanner in the iPhone Notes app or Google Drive, which straightens pages automatically.
  • Shoot in good light, straight on. A shadow or angle in the photo stays in the PDF.
  • The PDF is not searchable. The pages are pictures. To copy the text of a receipt or letter, run the photo through Image to Text (OCR).
  • Need to add or remove a page later? Use Merge PDF to append more images or PDFs, or Delete PDF Pages to drop one.

For store owners, receipts are often supplier invoices and ad bills that feed into margins. If you run a dropshipping store, AM Jarvis Dropshipping Suite works out your profit per sale from product cost, shipping and ad spend, which pairs well with keeping clean PDF records.

Image to PDF on a phone without this tool

Phones have built-in routes that work for a quick one-off:

  • iPhone, Files app: tap the More button, choose Select, pick the images, tap More again and choose Create PDF. The PDF appears in the same folder. Each page takes the size of its image; there is no Letter or A4 option and no margin.
  • iPhone, Photos app: select the photos, tap Share, then Print, and pinch out on the preview. That opens a PDF you can share or save to Files. Pages follow the printer paper size.
  • Android: in Google Photos or the Files app, open the image, choose Print and set the printer to Save as PDF.

These are fine for a single photo. For a stack of receipts in mixed formats, the converter above is quicker because you can order the pages, set one paper size and margin for all of them and choose between one file or one per image in a single step.

Troubleshooting

  • A HEIC photo will not open. A few HEIC files cannot be decoded in the browser. Convert that photo with HEIC to JPG and add the JPG, or set Settings > Camera > Formats to Most Compatible on the iPhone so future photos are saved as JPG.
  • A page is in the wrong orientation. Auto picks landscape for wide images. Choose Portrait to force all pages upright.
  • The browser slows down with many photos. Every image is held in memory while the PDF is built. Convert 50 or 100 phone photos at a time, then combine the PDFs with Merge PDF.

Privacy and limits

The converter is free, has no daily limit and adds no watermark. Images are processed on your device and never uploaded. For PNG screenshots and transparent logos, see PNG to PDF, which covers those in detail.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a picture to PDF?

Add the picture to the converter above, choose US Letter, A4 or Fit to image, and click Create PDF. The PDF downloads straight away. It works with JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, runs in your browser and does not upload your photo.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos to PDF?

Yes. HEIC photos are decoded in your browser and placed as high-quality JPG pages, so there is no need to change camera settings or convert them first. Rotation from the camera is respected, so pages come out upright.

How do I put multiple images into one PDF?

Add all the images, drag them into the order you want, keep Save as on One PDF and click Create PDF. Each image becomes one page. You can mix formats, for example HEIC photos with PNG screenshots.

How do I make a separate PDF for each image?

Choose One PDF per image under Save as. Each image becomes its own PDF named after the image, and you can download them one at a time or all together as a ZIP.

Why is my PDF so large?

The photos keep their full resolution, so the PDF is about the size of the photos combined. Phone photos are often 2 to 5 MB each. Resize the photos first or compress the finished PDF if you need a smaller file.

Is the PDF made from photos searchable?

No. Each page is a picture, so you cannot search or copy its text. To get the text, run the photo through an OCR tool such as Image to Text, then keep the text alongside the PDF.
