Extract Pages from PDF

Pick the pages you need from a PDF and save them as one new PDF, or as a separate PDF for each page.

Drop a PDF here or click to choose a file. Pick the pages you want to keep. Nothing is uploaded.

Runs in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable.

In short

To extract pages from a PDF, open it in the tool above, click the pages you want to keep or type them as ranges like 1-3, 7, choose One PDF or One PDF per page, and click Extract. The pages are copied unchanged into the new file, so text stays selectable. Your original is not touched and nothing is uploaded.

Often you need only a slice of a PDF: the one page of a contract a colleague has to sign, the two pages of a manual that cover a product you sell, the invoice for one month out of a year-long statement. Extracting those pages gives you a small, focused file to send, instead of a long document with "see page 37" in the email.

This tool copies the pages you pick into a new PDF on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, and your original file stays as it was.

How to extract pages from a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF on the box at the top of this page, or click it and choose the file. A thumbnail appears for each page.
  2. Click the pages you want to keep. Each one gets a gold check mark. Shift-click selects every page between your last click and this one.
  3. Or type them in Pages to extract, for example 1-3, 7 or 20- for page 20 to the end. Typing and clicking stay in sync.
  4. Use Select all, Odd pages, Even pages or Clear when they save time.
  5. Under Save as, choose One PDF to put all selected pages in one file, or One PDF per page (ZIP) to get a separate file for every page.
  6. Click Extract and download the result.

Pages come out in their original order, whatever order you clicked them in. To change the order or rotate pages, run the result through Organize PDF.

Choosing pages quickly in a long document

For a 10-page file, clicking thumbnails is fastest. For a 200-page manual, a few habits save time:

  • Find the page numbers first. Scroll the thumbnails to see where a section starts and ends, then type the range instead of clicking every page in between. 45-62 is one entry; clicking is eighteen.
  • Use shift-click for runs. Click the first page of a section, scroll, and shift-click the last. Every page in between is selected.
  • Combine entries. The box takes any mix of single pages, ranges and open ranges, such as 1, 45-62, 190- for the cover, one chapter and the index.
  • Use Odd or Even for printed spreads. If a scanned book has right-hand pages on odd pages, Odd pages selects them all at once.

The summary line under the options always tells you how many pages will be extracted and into how many files, so you can check before you click.

One PDF or one PDF per page?

Save asWhat you getFile namesGood for
One PDFA single file with the selected pagesreport-pages-1-3_7.pdfSending a section, a chapter or a few related pages
One PDF per pageA ZIP with one file per selected pagereport-page-1.pdf, report-page-2.pdfFiling each invoice, form or certificate on its own

With One PDF per page, you can also download any single file from the list without taking the whole ZIP. Select all pages and choose One PDF per page to split a whole document into single pages in one step.

What is copied and what is not

Extracted pages are exact copies. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their quality, and page sizes, landscape pages and rotation settings are kept. Links and comments on those pages come along too.

A few things belong to the whole document rather than a page and are not copied: bookmarks, fillable form fields and file attachments. Links that pointed to pages you left out no longer lead anywhere. For most extracts, such as a signed page, a chapter or a set of invoices, this makes no difference.

Worked examples

Send one page for signature

A 22-page agreement needs a signature on page 19 only. Type 19, keep One PDF and click Extract. You get agreement-page-19.pdf, a single page the other party can sign with Sign PDF and send back. Merge it into the full document afterward with Merge PDF.

Split a year of statements into months

A supplier sends a 12-page PDF with one monthly statement per page. Click Select all, choose One PDF per page and click Extract. The ZIP holds twelve files, statements-page-1.pdf through statements-page-12.pdf, ready to rename by month and file in your bookkeeping folders.

Pull product pages from a manufacturer catalog

A 120-page manufacturer catalog has the five products you stock on pages 14, 15, 38, 61 and 62. Type 14-15, 38, 61-62 and keep One PDF. The 5-page extract is small enough to attach to a listing draft or share with your team. If you are deciding which of a supplier's products to list in the first place, AM Jarvis Marketplace Research compares product ideas across Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Temu and AliExpress and helps you write listings for each.

Keep only the odd pages of a scanned book

A book chapter was scanned as 30 pages, and the even pages are blurry duplicates from a second pass. Click Odd pages, check the selection, keep One PDF and click Extract. The 15-page result has only the good scans, in order, ready to read or to run through PDF to Text if the scanner added a text layer.

Extract, delete or split?

All three tools copy pages without changing them; they differ in how you choose:

  • Extract PDF Pages (this tool): pick the pages you want to keep.
  • Delete PDF Pages: pick the pages you want gone, with a blank page finder for scans.
  • Split PDF: cut the whole document into several files by ranges or every N pages.

Without this tool

In Chrome or Edge you can open the PDF, press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on a Mac), pick Save as PDF and enter custom pages. That saves a printed copy rather than an exact one, so links can be lost and some pages may look different. On a Mac, Preview lets you drag thumbnails from the sidebar to the desktop, which creates a one-page PDF per drag, but it is slow for more than a few pages.

Extracting pages on a phone

The tool works the same in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android. Tap the drop zone, pick the PDF from Files or Downloads, tap the pages to keep (thumbnails show three across on a phone screen), and tap Extract. A single PDF saves straight to your downloads. For One PDF per page, the ZIP option works on most phones; if your browser asks about multiple downloads, allow it or download the files one at a time from the list.

Troubleshooting

  • The Extract button is grayed out. Select at least one page, or fix the page list if it shows an error in red.
  • The PDF will not open. If it is password protected or restricted, remove the password with Unlock PDF first (you need the password).
  • The ZIP will not download. Some phone browsers block several downloads at once. Download the files one by one from the list, or use a computer for large batches.
  • The page numbers printed on the pages do not match. The tool uses the position of the page in the file, shown under each thumbnail. A report whose printed page 1 is the third page of the file needs 3, not 1.

Privacy and limits

The tool is free with no daily limit, no account and no watermark. The PDF is read and rebuilt in your browser and never sent to a server, which suits contracts, statements and medical paperwork. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract a single page from a PDF?

Open the PDF in the tool above, click the page you want or type its number, keep Save as on One PDF and click Extract. You get a one-page PDF named after the original and the page number. Nothing is uploaded.

How do I extract multiple pages into one PDF?

Click each page you want, or type a list such as 2-4, 9, 15-17. Keep One PDF selected and click Extract. The new PDF contains those pages in their original order.

How do I save every page of a PDF as a separate file?

Click Select all, choose One PDF per page (ZIP) and click Extract. Each page becomes its own PDF, and you can download them all in one ZIP or pick single files from the list.

Does extracting pages lower the quality?

No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, with no re-rendering or compression. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original resolution, and page sizes and orientation are unchanged, so the extract looks identical to those pages in the original.

Can I change the order of extracted pages?

Extracted pages keep their original order, whatever order you clicked them in. To reorder them, open the new file in Organize PDF, drag the pages into the order you want, rotate any that need it and download it again.

Is it safe to extract pages from a confidential PDF here?

Yes. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded to a server. The new PDF is created on your device, the original file is left unchanged, and the tool keeps working even if you go offline after the page loads.
