AM Sending five separate attachments when one would do is a small annoyance for you and a bigger one for whoever receives them. This tool combines several PDFs into a single file in the order you choose. You can mix in images too, such as a phone photo of a receipt, and each one becomes a page in the finished PDF.
It runs in your browser. Your files are not uploaded, and the merged PDF has no watermark.
How to merge PDF files
- Drag your PDF files into the box at the top of this page, or click it to choose them. You can select several files at once.
- Add any images you want included as pages.
- Drag the files into the order you want in the finished document. The first file in the list becomes the first pages of the PDF.
- Remove anything you added by mistake.
- Click merge. The files are combined on your device, which usually takes a few seconds.
- Download the merged PDF and scroll through it once to confirm the order.
What happens to your pages
The merge copies each page into the new file as it is. Pages are not converted to images, so text stays selectable and searchable, and vector graphics stay sharp at any zoom. Each page also keeps its original size and orientation. If you merge an A4 document with a US Letter one, the result has pages of both sizes, which is normal for PDFs and prints fine on most printers with "fit to page" turned on.
Because nothing is recompressed, the merged file is roughly the size of all the input files added together. If the result is too large to email, run it through Compress PDF afterward.
Each image you add becomes its own page, in the position you drag it to. Photos rarely match the page size of the documents around them, so they can look out of place in the finished file. When the images need a consistent page size, such as A4 or US Letter with margins, turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF first and add that file to the merge instead.

The merge works at the file level: you decide the order of the documents, and the pages inside each document stay in their original order. If you only need some pages from a long file, take them out with Split PDF first, then merge the smaller file.
Tips for a clean merged PDF
- Give files clear names before you add them. A numeric prefix such as 01-contract.pdf, 02-schedule.pdf makes the list easy to read and sort.
- Fix orientation first. A sideways scan in the middle of a merged file is easy to miss. Rotate it before merging, or fix it afterward in Organize PDF.
- Watch email limits. Gmail attachments are limited to 25 MB. A merged file of scanned documents can pass that quickly, so check the size before you send.
- Put a cover page first. For an application or a bid, a one-page summary at the front helps the reader find their way through the bundle.
- Check page count. The merged file should have exactly as many pages as the inputs combined. If it has fewer, one of the inputs probably failed to load.
- Your originals stay as they are. Merging creates a new file and does not change the input files, so you can run it again in a different order if you change your mind.
Common uses for online sellers
Merging is a quick way to keep bookkeeping tidy. Create each invoice with the Shopify invoice generator, then merge a month of invoices and supplier receipts into one file for your accountant. A worked example: a rental application pack
A landlord asks for one PDF with your application form, two pay slips, a bank statement and a photo of your ID. Drop the application PDF, the two pay slip PDFs, the statement and the ID photo (a HEIC straight from your iPhone works). Drag the application to the top, then the pay slips, statement and ID. Merge. The result has every page of every file in that order, with text still selectable in the PDFs. Check the size: if it is over the landlord's email limit, run it through Compress PDF.
How to combine PDF files on Mac and Windows without a tool
- Mac: open the first PDF in Preview, show the thumbnail sidebar, and drag the other PDFs into the sidebar where you want them. Save with File > Export as PDF.
- Windows: there is no built-in way to merge PDFs. Printing several files to "Microsoft Print to PDF" creates separate files, not one. A browser tool like this one is the simplest option.
Checking the merged file
Before you send it, scroll through once and check three things: the page count equals the pages of all inputs added together, the first page is the one the reader should see first, and no scan is sideways. If a page is out of place, open the merged file in Organize PDF, drag it to the right spot and download again. Your input files are never changed, so you can always merge again.

Troubleshooting
- A file shows an error in the list. It is password protected, damaged or not really a PDF. Open it in another app and save a fresh copy.
- A HEIC photo will not add. The HEIC decoder may not have loaded; refresh the page and try again.
- The merged file is huge. Phone photos are several megabytes each. Resize them first or compress the result.
- Pages are different sizes. Each page keeps its original size. For uniform image pages, build them with JPG to PDF first.
Privacy and limits
All merging happens in your browser. The PDFs are read and combined on your own device and are never uploaded to a server, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded. That matters for contracts, bank statements and anything with customer data in it.
The tool is free with no daily limit, needs no account and adds no watermark. Very large merges, in the hundreds of megabytes, depend on your device's memory. If a big merge stalls on a phone, try it on a computer or merge in two rounds.
Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs cannot be merged directly. Open the file with its password in another app, save a copy without protection if you are allowed to, and add that copy here. The tool does not remove passwords or restrictions.
